perfectly healthy

We went to a 5-month check-up yesterday and the pediatrician said that Zoe is healthy, smart, and strong. She was surprised by how well Zoe is already sitting up. She has "trunk control". The scale says she weighs 16 pounds and the yardstick showed that she's 26 inches tall.

We have started some solid foods: bananas, squash, carrots & rice cereal. She opens her mouth when the spoon comes toward her and tries to "help" grab the spoon. It's a very messy adventure.

camping

We took baby z out to Darrington for her first "camping" trip. It was a beautiful day and she got to enjoy the sunshine [beneath her spf 50 uva/uvb sunscreen] and the gentle river breeze. We did not stay the night, just long enough to fight off the evening mosquitos.

Noises

Zoe has learned lots of new noises. She's making a "gah" sound that is really cute. I try to capture them on video, but she always stops talking and justs smiles a lot when the camera comes out. I got this short clip this morning. You can also see the progress on the wall that I'm painting behind her crib. It's an on-going project.

new Zoe page

I'm going to keep the other space intact, it will be a sort of archive of Zoe photos. This page is where I will now post any updates about us and baby z. The nice thing about blogger is that it's easy to upload videos, so I will post those instead of 2 million photos. Pete thinks that we need to continue to share the 2 million photos daily, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. If you feel like you are not getting enough up-to-the-minute coverage of Zoe... well, I don't know what to tell you. The weather is warming up and I would like to spend more of my "free time" away from the internet.
Anyhoo... Zoe adores her jumparoo! Enjoy this little video clip.
