fun at home

Target has lots of great summertime toys, including this collapsible tube that can be taken outdoors. Zoe loved playing in one at a friend's house months ago, and she still likes it. We can also buy a pop-up playhouse that the tube connects to. Maybe this summer. We've had some crazy weather [rain, snow, hail, sun] and have been all been sick with what seems to be a seattle-wide virus so we've spent a lot of time in the house. You can tell from this video & the bowl-hat video that anything & everything has become a toy.
Zoe is learning some new words: hat, banana, all done, up, what's that? She'll eat just about anything & still loves turkey, chicken, cheese, strawberries, cheerios, grapefruit, bananas... She loves to walk around on her own and explore new places. She's not afraid of anything and loves to meet new people. She likes to be tickled and chased around the house. She loves music and anything that rattles or makes noise. There is a show on Noggin called Jack's Big Music Show and they sing & dance the whole time and solve some kind of dilemma like taking a bath, or meeting a new friend. I turn this on in the morning and Zoe dances around the living room for 30 minutes. I'll get some video. She knows that my phone will play music and has figured out that if she pushes enough buttons eventually a song will come on. When this happens she carries my phone around and dances. It makes her so happy.
The best thing about Zoe is how much she understands. I can tell her to get in her highchair and she climbs up and sits down, ready to eat. I can say "we're going this way" and she'll come with me. She also knows "don't touch that" and "let's take a bath" and "time to go".
